More funding is available for California farmers and ranchers who have experienced financial losses due to the pandemic.

The California Small Business COVD-19 Relief Grant Program provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 that can be used to cover a wide variety of expenses related to pandemic impacts. The second round of funding is opening next week and applications will be accepted from February 2, 2021 at 8 am PST until February 8, 2021 at 6 pm PST. If you submitted an application during the last round and were not selected to receive a grant, your application will automatically be considered for this round: you do not need to reapply.

Learn more about this new program and see if your farm is eligible from our friends CalCAN Coalition members Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) here.

Get ready for the application

If you did not submit an application during the last round, there are steps you can take now to make sure that your application is ready to go by February 2, 2021!

There are short videos to walk you through the application process, available in Cantonese, English, Hmong, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. You can review the application guide and scan your needed documents ahead of time which include:

  • Federal Tax Return (2019 or 2018, whichever is most recent, all pages, in PDF format)
  • Business license, articles of incorporation, fictitious name registration, or producers certificate – if applicable to your business
  • Your completed application certification
  • Photo ID (driver’s license, REAL ID, state ID, or passport)

Applications need to be submitted through an approved partner organization. You can check out the full list here. Kitchen Table Advisors and CAFF have teamed up as approved partner organizations and are available to support you with your application if you apply through kta.mylendistry.com.
