I support $100 million for the Healthy Soils Program, $100 million for the State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program, and $50 million for the Alternative Manure Management Program.<\/div><\/div>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<p>Formed during the height of the pandemic, a diverse coalition has come together to advocate for once-in-a-generation investments in California\u2019s food and farming system that prioritize those in socially disadvantaged communities, small and mid-scale farmers and socially disadvantaged farmers. Early in 2021, we sponsored Assembly Bill 125, authored by Assemblymember Robert Rivas, which proposed a $3.2 billion bond measure for the November 2022 ballot.<\/p>\n<p>AB 125 will continue to be debated next year, and meanwhile, we are focused on securing almost $780 million in the 2021-22 fiscal year budget.
